Only two more weekends left. One normal weekend and then the long weekend for Labour Day.
Due to my work schedule I haven't got away much. One night in Whistler and next weekend one night in Victoria. I have Hawaii to look forward to in November and one night in Seattle in September. I am really looking forward to going back to Kauai.
On the other hand H has had quite the summer of traveling; Whistler, Lake Wenatchee, Yellowstone Park, Harrison Hot Springs, Las Vegas and Victoria. He sure gets around? He is a lucky kid. S and H were in Vegas earlier this week for 2 nights. They seemed to have a great time. Pool, eating, Chris Angel and bowling.
This weekend has been a bust. My allergies have been really bad and today I have a migraine. I am heavily medicated right now. I haven't had a headache/migraine like this in a very loooong time. I went to the gym this morning and spent 30 mins on the elliptical deciding if I should run to the bathroom to puke or not. I never actually puked but sure felt like it a few times. Aren't you glad you read this?
Starting in September I am going to track again on MFP at least 5 days per week if not everyday until we leave for our trip on Halloween. Sorry, I got nothing exciting to say. I am going to go lay down.

I rode my bike to work
I rode my bike to work on Tuesday. I thought I was going to ride it home. When I got to work the first thing I did was call S to tell him he had to pick me up. I am so out of shape. I know most of the ride is pretty much uphill but it was soooooooooo hard. That was Tuesday, now it is Friday and my quads still hurt. Beyond that no other exciting workouts this week. Bike at home an one weight workout. Goint to the gym in the morning tomorrow for another weights workout.
H has been away since Monday. It is amazing how much free time you have when you are childless??? I don't have to rush out of work or in the morning. I get home and eat and watch my TV shows. By 9pm I am out of things to do. I guess I could clean.... bwhahahahahaha... that was funny. I do miss him though and he better miss me. S and I have gone out for dinner and tomorrow I am going to see a friend then shop by myself!!! ALONE!
Pretty borning summer. Not very exciting. My friend and I are going to go to Victoria for one night with the kids. The hotel is cheaper than the ferry. $100 each way for the car. Ridonculous. No wonder we never go to the Island anymore.
Now, I need to remember to bring my bike home from work tonight.
***Update***
I forgot to bring my bike home from work.

I am not really good at this blogging thing?
I have been MIA again. Nothing has been going on really that is exciting. I usually like blogging about boring life stuff but that is not even motivating me to run this year. Working full time has cut down on my ME time which is when i used to do things like write blogs. I have many draft blogs that I do not post. I found Dery girls the other day too stuffed in a corner in my bedroom. I need to take Dery out to see Vancouver and mail her off to someone new. Is Dery the blue bunny's name even? Derry? Berry?
H is leaving Monday for a week and a half away with my parents. Not sure what I am going to do with myself now that I don't have to speed home. Guess I don't have to get up early to work out? I might do it before work anyway. I WILL RIDE MY BIKE TO WORK AT LEAST ONCE THIS WEEK. My only goal this spring/summer/fall was to ride my bike more and i am failing at doing so. Failing miserably.
I haven't cooked anything new or done any amazing workouts.
We did book our fall holiday so I have that to look forward too.

June? June is halfway done? Whoa.
Not much has happened since my last blog. Just life. Nothing too exciting. Just been working and hanging with the family.
I made this from pinterest the other day. Having it for lunch today at work.

it was ok. i think it is better reheated in the microwave than fresh. i find it odd when foods are like that. i make a bean pie type thing that is way better as leftovers too. the above though was a little bland so next time it needs more spice. someone suggested on the original blog about mixing in some salsa. i think that may work too.
work is going well. I am changing my job again in a bit. same company/title but different duties. i will no longer have to interact with external customers for the most part which i LOVE. i am ready for this exciting change and my new duties are better suited for me.
fitness.... bleh. not doing a lot there. i am doing my bootcamp class once a week and riding my bike once a week and then the rest is small stuff like leisurely walks and bike rides. right now i have 2 week days off so i can do my class. in a couple of weeks this is no more so i am going to have to make an effort to fit in more exercise. especially weights. at least it is light her until 9-930pm for the next couple of months so i can walk/ride after work. h and i are also planning to do a color run thing in august so i MAY start running a bit so i don't die over 5k of mostly walking. my kid will surely out shine me which is great! the girl who did halfs to barely making it 5k? yikes. i am going to right about running or not running i guess next week. I am also going to make time for some hiking on the weekends.

long time no post
It has been a while. I don't know why I haven't posted. I don't have a lot to post even now.
We went on our family holiday to Los Angeles/Anaheim and San Diego in April. We had a great time. The weather was great. No one killed each other although it may have been close a couple of times. My allergies were crazy in San Diego. I took a lot of Claritin and it was not helping. I was miserable but we still had fun at Seaworld. Who doesn't love getting soaked by Shamu?
Disneyland was Disneyland. Nothing new or exciting there. We thought H would be brave and want to go on all the rides. Turned out he is a chicken.
Universal was very fun. I think it may have been my favorite. Not sure why. The Transformers ride is amazing. The best ride of the entire trip. H loved transformers and The Simpsons which were way scarier than anything Disney threw at us but he was convinced the ride at Disney were scary. It was cool and drizzly the day we were at Universal. It was sunny/warm in Anaheim when we left. My flip flopped feet were frozen. Below is a picture of us with Megatron.
We also went to a Dodgers game and that was a nice night. Stadium food in the USA is so much better than in Canada in general. I have never been disappointed by the USA offerings. We ended our trip in Santa Monica which we did last time too, I want to live there, just wish it wasn't in the USA. I wish Canada had somewhere sunny and warm for us to live. Maybe we should invade Hawaii? That would be my choice.
Next time we go we will spend less time in Anaheim. I want to stay somewhere out at the beach or in LA and we can drive to Anaheim if we are going to Disney.

I have yet to weigh myself. Very proud of this.
I logged onto/tracked in myfitnesspal 100+ days before our trip. Very proud of this.
I have not run in months. I am also proud of this.

March Goals
I do not know the last time I set a monthly goal. I have been flying by the seat of my pants for months. ummmm... maybe years? probably not years but it has been awhile.

That is what i found when i googled 'flying by the seat of my pants.'
anywhooooooo
so my goals for March are:
#1 - less eating out. this goal is more about the wallet than the waistline. the bonus though hopefully will be the waistline. i spent a disgusting amount on take out food last month. this needs to stop. so i will allow myself to buy lunch once a week, dinner once a week and coffee once per week. that is it!
#2 - more strength training. this shouldn't be hard as i am only doing strength during my bootcamp class so one whopping time per week. I will increase this to 2x per week.
#3 - Chillax - spend more time relaxing. Going to Seattle for one night and will try to ski 1x during h's spring break.
That is it for my goals for now.
Last week was pretty exciting for my little man. We were at a Vancouver Giant's game and our son's hockey team got to meet Gordie Howe. Then h's picture the next day ended up in the sports section of the Vancouver Sun. he was very excited. Below is the picture that ran in the paper. h is beside the girl. Gordie Howe is the old guy aka 'Mr Hockey.'

i missed skiing?
who would have thunk it? my last few experiences 10+ years ago were not the best. too cold, issues with the people i was skiing with... blah blah blah. i ended up not loving it or even liking it.
then h wanted to try snow boarding. so in december we went and spent the day up on the mountain. we skated on an outdoor rink and h tried snowboarding. he did not love snowboarding so he asked to try skiing to see if he liked it better. our first trip up at the end of january was interesting. i taught him to ski. after a few hours of us yelling at each other he finally got it and loved it. we went again last friday and he even attempted a "scary" blue run which i led him down in error when i took a wrong turn. he did great. we had a great day. at the end of the day he even road the short chair alone. now i am looking for used ski equipment. i really missed being out in the cold and on the mountain.
however, even used ski equipment is expensive. snowboarding seems to be a cheaper option. however, i have never snowboarded. thinking i may just buy snowboarding stuff and give it a whirl. undecided. we will probably hit the slopes one more time this year. hopefully S can join so he can witness our new little ski bunny. i will put some pics at the end of this.
I have been exhausted (again) all this week. i have sucked it up and done a bit of working out. nothing too strenuous though. not even close. did i mention we now have an indoor bike for home?
we now have an indoor bike for home.
so when i can barely muster up the strength to get off the couch i will go and force myself to do 30 minutes on the bike while i watch some netflix. what am i watching on netfilx? right now i am watching House of Cards and I am enjoying it. House of Cards was made just for netflix which is interesting in itself. I recently finished all the Misfits episodes on netflix. I put off watching the last episode on there for a month because i didn't want it to end.
dear netflix, more Misfits NOW please.
I also watch Community and Justified. I used to watch Breaking Bad a lot but it seriously started to depress me so I had to stop. That show is great but seemed to get too under my skin.
I am going to be supervising at work now until the end of the year. lots of changes in my company this year so i am glad to be in a leadership position. the extra moola is nice too.
