no workouts this week

ZERO, ZIP, NADDA...

I don't remember the last time this happened. Not working out even once in a week. I have been very tired this week. Probably on the verge of getting sick but not quite sick. My throat gets sore and i get tired very easily.

So tomorrow is Sunday. New week, fresh start.

I have been tracking since January. Not calories. I have been tracking how many days a week I drink the appropriate amount of water, how many days I work out and how often I ate "fast food" that week.

I rarely go on Facebook except to play candy crush. I find Facebook highly annoying right now. I may just delete  the app from my phone but it is the only way a couple of my friends seem to communicate now.

I was looking at my cell phone usage for last month. Take a guess at how many minutes I used? 100? more? less? immmm, it was 10. Yes only 10. I swear that most of my calls now are now via FaceTime under wifi. We still have a home phone, however I never answer that or use it. I lied, I ordered S a pizza tonight. I think working in a call centre I tend to avoid actually speaking on the phone as much as i can. I spoke of stress on my last blog. Well my work cell rang over 100 times last monday. on top of answering the phone that many times i am also responding to instant messages, emails and just people walking up. I am done with the world at 5pm.

Tomorrow, all of Canada will be awake early for THE hockey game. I will be sleeping.

oh boy

i haven't posted since september. oh my! i know it has been a long time but i didn't think that long????

i am not going to try to even recap what has happened over 5 months.

work has been an absolute gong show. new system and we are not doing well. stress is through the roof with everyone. trying to keep stress down but that is stressful in itself some days.

i have been working out 4x a week. doing a trx class at least once and more recently throwing in a tabata class. both are great classes and are very hard.

i really should have worked out tonight but i didn't. hard day at work and changing the channel on the tv is daunting. i know deep down exercise would help but today i just feel paralyzed. so in order to now work out 4x this week i need to get moving for the next 3 days. i can do it.

in one month i get to go see my parents in Arizona for a week. Hopefully the sun will be out. A little vitamin d is always good for the soul.

Color Run or Colour Run as we say in Canada eh

Last Saturday H and I did the Color Run. I actually find it humorous they call it a run because there wasn't much "running" going on. It was really fun though and I would do it again as a fun family outing. Not as a planned "run" though. We did jog quite a bit between the stations.

Packet pick up times were ridiculous. They were from 12-6 right downtown. I guess the organizers of the color run don't understand that most of Vancouverites don't actually live in Vancouver and it takes us like 30-60 mins to get downtown on a good day so if you work, which i assume you do, getting to packet pick up is pretty much impossible before 6.

We enjoyed dressing up like nerds and frolicking in the cornstarch colored mist. The volunteers at the pink station were very gentle with the coloring. The volunteers at the yellow station were quite aggressive. All in good fun though.





In other news we got a new old hot tub! A kind neighbour who could no longer use it due to health issues donated it to us. We are enjoying it. My dad hooked it all up for us and now H can relax after a hard day with a glass of water.







Tomorrow we are off to Seattle for the night. S is going to the Seahawks game and H and I are going to just relax, go on the duck tour which H always wants to go on and of course eat dinner at the cheese cake factory. Hopefully I will also pick up the quilt I want at Target cause our Target doesn't have it.

Summer is done???

Wow. Summer is done. I'm at the skatepark with H for his last hurrah before his first day back at school and had some time to write something today. I can't believe my baby is in grade 3. He is so big. 

I did not accomplish much this summer. No exciting trips either. One night in Whistler and one in Victoria.

I had lots of goals this summer...

I had a goal to ride my bike more. I rode it less.
I had a goal to hike every weekend. I went twice.
I had a goal to go to bootcamp every Thursday. I went 5 x. I guess that wasn't a complete bust? So 

September is here and I need to move on. In two months we head to Kauai. I am back to tracking om MFP and exercising more regularly. I would like to do 2 fitness classes a week. I haven't chosen which ones yet as my gym is revamping. My bootcamp class no longer exist. Will probably end up doing a TRX class and then a Metabolic class which is similar to bootcamp. H and I will be doing the color run on the 14th. I am looking forward to that. Not the 'run" part but the experience.

Summer is coming to an end...

Only two more weekends left. One normal weekend and then the long weekend for Labour Day.
Due to my work schedule I haven't got away much. One night in Whistler and next weekend one night in Victoria. I have Hawaii to look forward to in November and one night in Seattle in September. I am really looking forward to going back to Kauai.

On the other hand H has had quite the summer of traveling; Whistler, Lake Wenatchee, Yellowstone Park, Harrison Hot Springs, Las Vegas and Victoria. He sure gets around? He is a lucky kid. S and H were in Vegas earlier this week for 2 nights. They seemed to have a great time. Pool, eating, Chris Angel and bowling.

This weekend has been a bust. My allergies have been really bad and today I have a migraine. I am heavily medicated right now. I haven't had a headache/migraine like this in a very loooong time. I went to the gym this morning and spent 30 mins on the elliptical deciding if I should run to the bathroom to puke or not. I never actually puked but sure felt like it a few times. Aren't you glad you read this?

Starting in September I am going to track again on MFP at least 5 days per week if not everyday until we leave for our trip on Halloween. Sorry, I got nothing exciting to say. I am going to go lay down.

I rode my bike to work

I rode my bike to work on Tuesday. I thought I was going to ride it home. When I got to work the first thing I did was call S to tell him he had to pick me up. I am so out of shape. I know most of the ride is pretty much uphill but it was soooooooooo hard. That was Tuesday, now it is Friday and my quads still hurt. Beyond that no other exciting workouts this week. Bike at home an one weight workout. Goint to the gym in the morning tomorrow for another weights workout. H has been away since Monday. It is amazing how much free time you have when you are childless??? I don't have to rush out of work or in the morning. I get home and eat and watch my TV shows. By 9pm I am out of things to do. I guess I could clean.... bwhahahahahaha... that was funny. I do miss him though and he better miss me. S and I have gone out for dinner and tomorrow I am going to see a friend then shop by myself!!! ALONE! Pretty borning summer. Not very exciting. My friend and I are going to go to Victoria for one night with the kids. The hotel is cheaper than the ferry. $100 each way for the car. Ridonculous. No wonder we never go to the Island anymore. Now, I need to remember to bring my bike home from work tonight. ***Update*** I forgot to bring my bike home from work.

I am not really good at this blogging thing?

I have been MIA again. Nothing has been going on really that is exciting. I usually like blogging about boring life stuff but that is not even motivating me to run this year. Working full time has cut down on my ME time which is when i used to do things like write blogs. I have many draft blogs that I do not post. I found Dery girls the other day too stuffed in a corner in my bedroom. I need to take Dery out to see Vancouver and mail her off to someone new. Is Dery the blue bunny's name even? Derry? Berry?

H is leaving Monday for a week and a half away with my parents. Not sure what I am going to do with myself now that I don't have to speed home. Guess I don't have to get up early to work out? I might do it before work anyway. I WILL RIDE MY BIKE TO WORK AT LEAST ONCE THIS WEEK. My only goal this spring/summer/fall was to ride my bike more and i am failing at doing so. Failing miserably.

I haven't cooked anything new or done any amazing workouts.

We did book our fall holiday so I have that to look forward too.
